We call them…the ten commandments!... of speed. The ten commandments of speed. And they are:

Tip 1. Run A Client Centered Business – After all they sign everyone’s paycheck. Everything that you do or idea that you have should be held up to the litmus test of “How does this help our customer?” and “What can we do to help our clients even more?” or “How does this make it easier and more effective for them”.

Tip 2. Focus On The Future – That's where your opportunity lies. Innovating new solutions for customers, be they products, or services or fulfillment systems. This is how you ensure your business always remains relevant and in demand o your target market.

Tip 3. Be An Innovator – Here’s a great quote from Richard Branson

In this era of rapid change, continuous improvement through innovation is paramount. Inventing new solutions for you and your customer needs and wants ensures a long profitable life for your company. This is how most successful companies establish and maintain their lead in their industry.

Tip 4. Always seek to improve Quality - It makes you focus on actually being BETTER while your competitors merely claim to be better. It also lowers costs, improves your speed & efficiency, builds pride and improves Your customer loyalty.

Tip 5. Get Rapid, Accurate Feedback – You must Know your customers, your employers, your suppliers, your competitors and the marketers doing at all time. Ignorance can be fatal. Tip 6. Focus On Agility – Being very flexible, dynamic and efficient empowers you to quickly respond and adapt to sudden changes in the market including new more capable and better capitalized competitors.

If It Can’t Demonstrate Measurable Value, Don’t Do It – Any technology, job or activity that cannot demonstrate a measurable improvement value in either profits or process. is simply generating needless overhead. Don’t do it. For example, unlike other companies in their industry, Good to Great companies like Walgreens were slow to implement technology unless you can first demonstrate a measurable improvement in either profits or process. So, the rule of thumb is if it demonstrates or if it doesn't demonstrate a measurable improvement and making you more money or making your systems rum more efficiently, then don't do it.

Tip 8. Build Teams Not Bureaucracies – Cross functional work teams and virtual workforces make better, faster decisions than bureaucracies. Teams are also easier to lead, train, and manage than multilayered departmentalized bureaucracies. This also includes outsourcing key functions to virtual assistants. Virtual assistants can GREATLY reduce your operating cost and when implemented properly, also increase your revenues as well.

Tip 9. Lifelong Learning Is Mandatory – If you want to stay in business in a rapidly changing world, ongoing education is an ABSOLUTE MUST for both you and EVERYONE in your company. Make ongoing education part of their job description.
